Bi-weekly reminders to go grocery shopping.Bi-weekly reminders for when I get paid.Rather than speak in broad terms, let me be as specific as I can, I use google calendar for everything - and here are a few examples: This is why I continue to be an android user (I have a Google phone) despite using a mac for work - Google Calendar is my daily planner, and I would be a mess without it. I needed something editable, digital, fast, and could carry with me on multiple devices, and log into on multiple platforms - and it all needed to sync. This hack was a trick I started in college and went full-time with when I graduated and joined the workforce. It brought me this immense feeling of calm to be able to look at my week laid out and know what to expect of myself and my energy.

Knowing what I needed to anticipate in a week was also a symptom of my own neurodivergence, something I hadn’t started to research and explore until quite recently. But having a syllabus for each class, with the coursework laid out for an entire semester, solved a lot of those issues - no surprises. It didn’t stop the late-night panic that I’d forgotten to write something down. It made sense to continue using a planner in college because I was still carrying textbooks, a laptop, and a backpack everywhere. It began in high school when we were required to carry our school-year agenda at all times in order to use the bathroom and also served as a hall pass when we were running late. I used to live religiously by a daily planner.
